Not Sure Which Lithium Forklift Battery Fits Your Truck?
If you are not sure, simply share:
Forklift brand and model (for example: Toyota, Hyster, Linde, etc.)
A photo of the existing battery label and connector
How many hours per day the truck works and how many shifts you run
SAFTEC will respond with one or two recommended lithium forklift battery options, plus suggested chargers and charging strategy.
Drop-In Lithium Forklift Batteries and Custom Packs
SAFTEC offers For OEM and special projects, we can also design custom lithium forklift battery packs that share modules across several truck models, helping you reduce SKUs while still meeting each truck’s performance requirements.
Drop-in replacement trays designed to fit common lead-acid battery compartments
Matching weight to keep the truck’s counterbalance and stability within spec
Existing connector types (e.g., DIN, SB, REMA) and cable routing similar to your old battery
Optional display, SOC indicator and key switch on the top of the tray
Mechanical drawings and installation guides for your service technicians
How We Build Lithium Forklift Batteries
A reliable lithium forklift battery starts long before the pack is lowered into a truck. SAFTEC follows a controlled, traceable production flow:
Cell selection and matching – we use automotive-grade LiFePO4 prismatic or pouch cells, binned and matched for capacity and internal resistance.
Module assembly – cells are assembled into modules with proper busbars, insulation, compression and temperature sensors.
BMS integration – each pack includes a forklift-grade BMS with cell balancing, protection (OV/UV, OC, OT), pre-charge and communication interfaces.
Tray fabrication – steel trays are designed to withstand industrial vibration and provide protection from impacts and debris. Anti-corrosion treatment is applied.
End-of-line testing – each lithium forklift battery is tested for insulation, functionality, charge/discharge and communication before packing and shipping.
Learn More About Lithium Forklift Battery
Performance Gains When You Switch from Lead-Acid to Lithium in Forklifts
Companies that switch from lead-acid to lithium forklift batteries usually report gains in three key areas:
1. Uptime and productivity
Less time spent on battery changes, watering and cleaning
Stable power and lift speed throughout the shift
More trucks available during peak periods thanks to opportunity charging
2. Operating cost
Reduced labor for maintenance and watering
Fewer unplanned battery-related breakdowns
Longer cycle life (often 2–3× more cycles than typical lead-acid in similar conditions)
3. Workplace environment
No acid spills, gassing or top-off stations
Cleaner battery compartments and floors
Easier compliance with environmental and safety policies
SAFTEC can help you estimate the total cost of ownership (TCO) difference between keeping lead-acid and switching to lithium forklift batteries over 5–10 years.

Temperature and Cold-Store Considerations for Lithium Forklift Packs
Forklifts often work in challenging environments – outdoor yards, chill rooms and freezers. Temperature strongly affects battery performance and lifetime.
With SAFTEC lithium forklift batteries, we can:
Configure BMS protection limits and derating curves for your climate
Add integrated heaters and insulation for cold-store and freezer operations
Ensure proper thermal design for hot warehouses and high-ambient regions
Validate performance through cycling tests that simulate your real operating window
If your trucks regularly move from ambient docks into freezers, let us know. We will tailor the lithium forklift battery design so that it charges and discharges safely without accelerated degradation.

Charging Systems, Chargers and Smart BMS for Forklift Fleets
A lithium forklift battery unlocks the full benefit only when the charger and BMS are properly matched.
SAFTEC can support you with:
Correct charger voltage and current to match each pack
Charging profiles optimized for LiFePO₄ chemistry
CAN / RS485 communication between charger, BMS and – if required – the truck controller
Guidance on locating chargers to make opportunity charging easy and safe
In some cases, existing lead-acid chargers can be reused after careful verification. In other cases, we supply new lithium-compatible chargers with plug-and-play connections and clear instructions for your electricians.
📢📢📢: Share your existing chargers and power supply – our team will advise whether you can reuse them or need a new solution.
Safety, Certification and Shipping for Industrial Lithium Forklift Batteries
Industrial equipment must meet strict safety and compliance requirements. SAFTEC designs lithium forklift batteries with this in mind.
Built-in protections: over-voltage, under-voltage, over-current, short-circuit, over-temperature, insulation monitoring
Compliance with relevant industrial and transport standards (such as UN38.3 test summary for shipping, and other electrical safety standards as required in your market)
Robust steel trays with integrated fusing, emergency stop options and clear warning labels
Packing, documentation and MSDS / SDS to support international sea and air shipments
For export projects, our team can work with your freight forwarder to make sure lithium forklift batteries are correctly declared, packed and labeled, avoiding delays at customs.
📢📢📢: Need IEC/UL reports or UN38.3 test summaries for your compliance file? We can prepare a full documentation pack with your quotation.
Lithium Forklift Battery FAQ
Can I reuse my existing lead-acid charger with a lithium forklift battery?
Sometimes yes, but not always. The charger must match the lithium pack’s voltage and should have a suitable charging profile. Before reuse, SAFTEC will check your charger specifications and, if needed, recommend lithium-compatible chargers.
How long does a lithium forklift battery last?
Service life depends on depth of discharge, temperature and charging practice. In many warehouse applications, a well-sized LiFePO₄ forklift battery can deliver several thousand cycles, often lasting longer than the truck itself.
Is it possible to retrofit older forklifts from lead-acid to lithium?
Yes, many existing electric forklifts can be upgraded. We design trays that fit the original battery compartment and provide guidance on wiring, connectors and, where needed, communication with the truck controller.
What capacity should I choose for multi-shift operation?
We look at your total working hours per day, load profile and available charging breaks. In some fleets, a slightly smaller pack with frequent opportunity charging is more efficient than a very large pack that is only charged overnight.
What documents are needed for export and shipping?
For international shipments, SAFTEC can supply UN38.3 test summaries, MSDS / SDS, packing lists and other documents requested by your freight forwarder and local authorities.
