FAQ
How do I choose between a 48V and 51.2V rack battery?
The battery voltage must match the DC operating range and charging parameters of the connected UPS, inverter or PCS. Do not select between 48V and 51.2V based only on capacity or nominal energy. Send SAFTEC the equipment model and charging parameters for review.
Can multiple rack battery modules be connected in parallel?
Parallel operation must be confirmed for the selected battery configuration. The number of modules, BMS communication, current-sharing arrangement, protection devices and cable sizes should be reviewed before ordering. Different models or capacities should not be mixed without technical confirmation.
Can the rack battery be installed in an outdoor cabinet?
A standard rack battery module should not be assumed suitable for direct outdoor exposure. For outdoor projects, provide the cabinet protection level, ambient temperature range, ventilation or cooling arrangement, humidity conditions and available installation space.
What if we do not have the communication protocol document?
Send the brand and model of the connected UPS, inverter or PCS, together with photos of the communication interface and any available information from the existing battery. SAFTEC can review what matching information is available and identify what still needs to be confirmed.
Are the battery rack, cabinet and connection cables included?
These items are not automatically included with every rack battery configuration. Tell SAFTEC whether you require a battery rack or cabinet, power cables, communication cables, connectors or other accessories. The quotation will clearly state the included supply scope.
